Null TerraIs Github Copilot extension for text editor invasive?

If I install the extension on VSCodium (Open Source Version), is this a privacy concern other than that it reads all my HTML files in the folder I have open?
Work came down with a new github copilot mandate. Based on the features available it's got hooks into all the code in your project and your git history at the very least.
If it's going to be as useful as possible, yes.
