I’ll probably buy one, the HTPC situation kinda sucks right now (thanks HDMI committee for fucking us all over)

Amd stock dropped 16% today, seems like a good time to grab and sit on.

ehhh.... AMD and NVDA make money off the server space not gaming. ie, every revenue graph for the past 10 years. So the time would to buy would be when they announce a huge contract like the one with OpenAI again.

When investors get tired of burning money on data centers, the income will be more dependent on consumers. AMD is making plans to focus on individual consumer devices. Imo Nvidia stock is overpriced.

Surprised AMD gave a mention for it - it must be pretty small potatoes compared to... gestures around

Is the next console generation already launching next year, or is it just the xbox? Does seem like yesterday, when the ps5 released...

I wonder if they’re going to subsidize it with the RAM price hikes to prevent it from dying on the vine. It’s a great idea and looks to be a good bit of kit, but it’s timing couldn’t have been worse.

Edit: and the announcement just came out today that nope… it’s being delayed and the price will be higher due to RAM shortages.

There's no possible way they could do this since it's not bootloader locked. If they did, sure they'll sell a ton, but it would be used for all sorts of random junk instead of the steam store which wouldn't generate them any profit and additionally would likely frustrate gamers due to extremely limited stock. We'll all just need to swallow larger electronics prices until new fabs come online or the ai bubble pops.
